Iginigiit ngayon ng Department of Justice (DOJ) na walang nangyaring tangkang pagtakas gamit ang heavy-lift drone sa New Bilibid Prison.
Kasunod ito ng mga ulat sa South Korea na umano’y nagplano ang isang Korean drug boss na gamitin ang drone para makatakas sa kulungan.
Ayon kay Justice Undersecretary Ian Norman Dato, walang nadiskubre o naitalang ganitong tangkang pagtakas habang nasa kustodiya ng Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) ang Korean national.
“The Department of Justice is confident that our Bureau of Corrections is fully equipped and prepared to prevent any such eventuality. If we are referring to the same Korean national, that Korean national has already been turned over and in the custody of the Republic of Korea since March of this year. So, he is in the custody of the Korean government and he is no longer in the Philippines,” pahayag ni Dato.
Tiwala rin aniya ang DOJ na kayang pigilan ng Bureau of Corrections ang ganitong insidente.

Ayon sa BuCor, no-fly zones ang mga kulungan nito at may 24/7 watchtowers at CCTV para matukoy ang mga drone.
Gayunpaman, patuloy namang bineberipika ng Justice Department ang impormasyon at report mula sa ibang bansa.
