Tumangging magkomento si Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Frederick Vida, sa mga usap-usapang posibleng pumalit bilang Chief Justice, si Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla.
Paliwanag ni Vida, miyembro siya ng Judicial and Bar Council (JBC), na siyang magsasala sa mga aplikante para sa posisyon.
“I cannot comment on that. I am a member of the JBC, ‘no. So I will be part of that council to screen applicants,” ayon kay Vida.
Gayunpaman, una nang itinanggi ni Remulla ang mga espekulasyon, at sinabi umanong hindi siya mag-a-apply bilang Chief Justice.
