Hindi pinalusot ng Quezon City court ang petisyon ng abogadong si Manases “Mans” Carpio na ihinto na ang impeachment proceedings laban sa asawa nitong si Vice President Sara Duterte dahil sa “lack of jurisdiction.”
Sa five-page order noong May 6, 2026 na pirmado ni Presiding Judge Madonna Echiverri, hindi kinatigan ng Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 81 ang petition for prohibition ni Carpio bunsod ng kawalan ng hurisdiksyon.
Dismissed maging ang prayer for the issuance ng writ of preliminary injunction laban kina Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III, House Committee on Justice Chairperson Batangas Rep. Gerville Reyes-Luistro, at Bureau of Internal Revenue Commissioner Charlito Martin Mendoza.
Ayon sa korte, ang mga respondents ay gumaganap lamang bilang parte ng House Committee on Justice at dapat na sa Supreme Court isinumite ang petisyon.

Samantala, bukod sa pagpapahinto ng proceedings, nais din ni Carpio na mapigilan ang paglalabas ng tax records na gagamitin ng komite sa impeachment ni VP Sara Duterte.
